Wiper Seals (Excluders)

The wiper device is to remove contaminant, such as moisture, dust, and grit from the rod surface to prevent it from damaging the rod and also from contaminating the hydraulic system. A typical profile of a wiper in contact with a piston is shown in the following figure:

Our wiper is a continuous one piece device and it can be easily installed by snapping it into your groove. The structure and profile of the wiper seals vary widely depending on the operating environment. The wipers that we make can remove water, dust, wet mud, ice, dry mud or other solidified debris from the rod. The wipers designed by us have an outward facing lip and we offer the following various standard designs:

Type		Features
WP1		with triple steps on its outer surfaces, designed for heavy duty application with high toughness and abrasion resistance to minimise inner seal deterioration under the action of contaminant on the surface of rod.
WP2/WP9		standard universal wiper ring, with chamfered lip, also designed for heavy duty application with high toughness and abrasion resistance to minimise inner seal deterioration under the action of contaminant on the surface of rod
WP6		This consists of either a metal or a hard plastics casing on the wiper seal. The casing is to enable it to fit into an open groove without any retention aid. The metal casing can be a carbon steel treated to prevent corrosion, stainless steel 304, 316 or a hard plastics casing.
WP8		standard universal wiper ring, with sharp lip, also designed for heavy duty application with high toughness and abrasion resistance to minimise inner seal deterioration under the action of contaminant on the surface of rod.
WP11		A double lip wiper seal which is also a one piece device for easy snapping it into groove. It provides both wiping and sealing action in one device. The outer lip scrapes contaminant from the rod, while the inner lip acts as an effective seal in a low pressure application or it acts as a secondary seal to trap leakage from the inner high pressure sealing system.
WP15		WP15 is a double acting rod wiper. It consists of an O-ring and a double acting wiper seal.
