Hydraulic Seals - U-profiled seals (U-cups)
U-profiled seals (also known as U-cups) have a U configuration. The flexure of the elastomer is responsible for the initial sealing force, and it also provides a very consistent interference force. In our U-profiled seals (U-cups), we consider the length to section ratio carefully and design the seal in such a way that it is resistant to spiralling in the groove. We can make this type of U-profiled seals using polyurethane (including hydrolysis resistant polyurethane), nitrile (NBR, HNBR, XNBR), silicone (MVQ), fluorosilicone, EPDM, fluorocarbon (FKM), FFKM, Aflas, or we can compound for you (see materials section for a complete list). We divide our U-profiled seals (U-cups) into rod seals, piston seals and universal seals either for piston or rod application.
Hydraulic U-profiled seals (U-cups) either for piston or rod application:

Rod Seals |
A U-profiled piston seal or rod seal (U-cups) made of high performance elastomer that provides outstanding resistance to extrusion and abrasion in a hydraulic system. |
UP1 |
UR1 |
This type of U-profiled piston seal or rod seal (U-cups) is suitable for high pressure hydraulic system where a hard plastics ring is fitted on the back seat of the seal. The ring prevents extrusion of the seal during high pressure application. Maximum operating pressure is normally 1.5x that of UP1 or UR1. |
UP2 |
UR2 |
U-profiled piston seal or rod seal (U-cups) consists of a ring fitted inside the groove of the U-profiled seal. The ring forces the lip of the seal tights against the piston surface for superior sealing purposes even at low pressure application. |
UP3 |
UR3 |
U-profiled piston seal or rod seal (U-cups) consists of an "X" shape ring fitted inside the groove of the U-profiled seal. The ring forces the lip of the seal tights against the piston surface for superior sealing purposes even at low pressure application. |

U-profiled piston seal UP4 combines the advantages of piston seal UP2 and piston seal UP3, while the U-profiled rod seal UR4 combines the advantages of rod seal UR2 and rod seal UR3. |

U-profiled piston seal UP4x combines the advantages of piston seal UP2 and piston seal UP3x, while U-profiled rod seal UR4x combines the advantages of rod seal UR2 and rod seal UR3x. |

The application of U-profiled piston seal UP39 is similar to piston seal UP2, while the application of U-profiled rod seal UR39 is similar to rod seal UR2. |

UR51 is a compact U-profiled rod seal made of high performance elastomer. The secondary lip traps flluid and serves to increase lubrication. It also exclude any contamination from the primary sealing lip thus increasing the life of seal. |

U-profiled rod seal UR51x is very similar to rod seal UR51 except an "X" profile ring is fitted in the groove. |

UPR6 |
UPR6 is a U-profiled universal piston seal and rod seal made of high performance elastomer that provides outstanding resistance to extrusion and abrasion in a hydraulic system. UPR6 can be used either in piston or rod application. |
UPR7 |
Piston seal and rod seal URP7 consists of a ring fitted inside the groove of the U-profiled seal. The ring forces the lip of the seal tight against the piston surface for superior sealing purposes even at low pressure. |
UPR7x |
Piston seal and rod seal URP7x consists of an "X" shape ring fitted inside the groove of the U-profiled seal. The ring forces the lip tight agains the piston surface for superior sealing purposes. |
UPR8 |
Piston seal and rod seal UPR8 is particularly suitable for fitting into smaller groove of piston or rod. It is suitable for low to high pressure applications. |
UPR14 |
Piston seal and rod seal UPR14 is particularly suitable for fitting into smaller groove of piston or rod. It is suitable for low to high pressure applications. |
